This sad and emotional fiction story is about a girl named Amaka and her father Mr Johnson Ike, read the story and try not to drop a tear.

Amaka was a very hard-working girl who lived with her father Mr Johnson Ike, in a small town called Umuhia.

Mrs Johnson had pass on to glory after giving birth to Amaka some years back, leaving only her husband and young Amaka behind.

It was indeed a breakpoint in the life of Mr Johnson because even up to this day, he has refused to get another wife for himself, due to reasons based known to him.

Well, Amaka and father were 5 & 6, a true definition of a good father-daughter relationship which seems unbreakable.

The two were fond of each other and loves playing around like age mates in the playground. Amaka's father was not really financially stable, but he is also known to spoil his daughter with expensive gifts like the latest toys, cloths etc since when she was at a tender age, and this attitude continued even when Amaka has come of age.

However, this is something Mr Johnson will soon come to regret in the future.

Few years pass and young Amaka has turned into a complete different person, she no longer respect her father or even do house chores at all, she would some times rain insults on him for not being able to provide whatever she wants at that time.

Amaka thought her father works in a bank so each time she asks for money, and he couldn't give her, it's going to be hell for Mr Johnson that day.

Everyone in the town of Umuhia pitied Amaka's father for what he has become, you will hardly see him around except in the night with his old suit and very dirty leather shoes returning from his bank work (or so everyone thought).

All of these troubles continued for a long time till one faithful day when Amaka discovered what her father really does for a living.

One Saturday morning, Mr Johnson prepared to leave for work but another serious misunderstanding started between him and Amaka which led to her fleeing from the house just because her father couldn't give her the N10,000 she was asking from him, this broke Mr Johnson's heart and after much begging and crying in pains, Amaka finally agreed to return home on the condition that her father will provide the money the next day.

That same day Mr Johnson went to his work place while Amaka stayed in her self-imposed exile hopefully waiting for her father to return with the money, but something happened that day which changed Amaka's life.

Amaka had gone to stay with her boyfriend Chidi who sells building materials in the neighboring town unfortunately, he wasn't at home, so she decided to look for him in the market, upon reaching there, Amaka noticed a crowd of people gathered in circle looking all amazed and seem to be enjoying a musical performance however, this wasn't something new and just when she decided to walk pass it, the sound of what seems to be her father's voice echoed through the crowd almost as if he was the one laughing and making other weird noises.

She heard the voice again as she walks pass the crowd but her mind wasn't at ease, so she decided to look for the man who has her father's voice.

MOMENT OF TRUTH

Upon seconds of looking into the faces of the people lo and behold Amaka set eyes on her father Mr Johnson, she couldn't believe what she was seeing, Amaka immediately went into a deep state of shock as tears began to run down her cheeks.

She discovered that her father was the one performing for the crowd, Mr Johnson that everyone thought works in the bank is an ordinary street dancer who disguises as a mad man then dance for people in the market for coins and small Naira notes.

apparently this is what Amaka's father does for the pass 18 years since he lost his wife during childbirth.

After some few minutes of silence and shock, Amaka suddenly started running back home, crying so bitterly because of how she has been treating her father without knowing the sacrifices he makes for her.

AMAKA'S NOTES TO HER FATHER

Later that night, Mr Johnson returned home looking all dusty and tired as usual as he noticed a note on the center table, it reads …

Daddy I'm sorry for all the bad things I've done to you…

I was selfish and ungrateful, I wish I can make things right but I can't.

I saw how you had to dance in the market to make money for us, dady I'm sorry.

I was a monster and I deserve to die, please don't cry for me bye bye daddy.

Amaka's father began to shed tears of sorrows as he searches for his dear daughter in the dark but couldn't find her, the next morning Amaka's body was found hanging on a tree just at the backyard, apparently Amaka had committed suicide that night.
