Recently a post went viral on Twitter showing a picture of how a man Converted a toilet pit into electricity and Cooking Gas.

In this article I am going to be teaching you how to do the same. In fact it's one of the simplest innovation in the world that almost everyone can do.

Owing to the fact that Nigeria's electricity is not reliable, this can fetch you money if you pay close attention or save you money you use in buying fuel and refilling your Gas cylinders.

Steps on how to use Toilet Soakaway to generate cooking gas.

Do you know that the human faeces produce gas?

When you go to toilet you notice that something like vapor do come out with faeces. Those Vapor are the natural gas we are taking about.

This same vapor also comes out from animals faeces, dustbin and every other waste product. Let's go into the steps.

1. Compress your waste products (faeces, animal droppings, dustbin) into an air tight container and allow it to decay. The container can be Gee-pee tank, Toilet Pit, or any container of your choice. The container must be air tight so that there will be no escape of gas. Toilet Soakaway is highly recommended because it's already available, unlike animal droppings or dustbin that will go out to look for.

2. The larger the amount of the faeces the higher the gas production.

3. For you do this, you must find a way to drain all the water inside the toilet pit. You can do this by inserting a pipe into the Soakaway with filter so that all the water inside the Soakaway will escape from the pipe into the gutter. But make sure you don't pollute your environment.

3. Allow the pit to stay for 2 weeks without water so that the main decompos ition will take effect.

4. It's recommended you construct 2 Soakaway pits so that once you block one and drain the water, you channel all the toilets in the building to the other one.

You will rotate it if the gas in the other pit is reducing.

5. Make sure you seal the pit very well so that gas cannot escape from any opening.

6. Open a small space at the top corner end of the pit, insert your pipe and seal it round. This pipe will channel the gas into your Gas cylinders or electricity generating plant.

7. You can channel the pipe upstairs, to your Gas cylinders, or to any other place you plan to use it.

8. Make sure to put lock nub in the pipe so that you can off it if going out or when you don't want to use it.

9. If you followed all the process well, then you use your gas in your kitchen as usual without refilling your Gas. All you have to do is remove the pipe from the gas cylinder to burner and channel to pipe from the Soakaway pit to the burner.

Note: you can employ the services of a plumber to help you when necessary.

How to use Soakaway pit to generate Electricity.

the process is the same just that you will not connect to gas cylinder.

This time, you will have to connect it with a generator that uses gas. There are so many generators that use gas to operate. Just as you use your normal petrol generator but the difference is that the generator will be using the Gas from the pit.

You can still Convert your normal petrol generator to Gas generator. You can do this by changing only the petrol Carburetor and replace it with Gas Carburetor.

One toilet pit can last for 3 years depending on how you use it.
