Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has congratulated the governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yaya Bello on the judgments of the Supreme Court, which affirmed the validity of the November 16, 2019 governorship election in Kogi State.

Governor Akeredolu describes the Supreme Court's declaration dismissing the appeal of the People's Democratic Party and the Social Democratic Party as victory for democracy and the people of Kogi State, adding that the judgment has boost the people's confidence in the judiciary.

The Governor says the victory will ensure that the Governor Bello administration continues with its giant strides developments and to consolidate on the various people-oriented projects executed by the administration.

Governor Akeredolu enjoins the Kogi State Governor to continue with the good governance that has endeared him to the people of the state and wishes the administration success in its drive to ensure all-round development of the state.

S' COURT JUDGMENT: ONDO APC CONGRATULATES GOV. BELLO OVER VICTORY

Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Engr. Ade Adetimehin has rejoiced with the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, over his victory at the Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court on Monday upheld the return of Gov. Bello as the winner of the last governorship election in Kogi State.

The party chieftain said the judgment is an affirmation and a validation of the popular belief that the APC candidate convincingly won the election.

Adetimehin describes the legal tussle as an avoidable distraction, urging the Governor to put it behind, and concentrate on government business in the interest of all.

The people of Kogi State, he contends, deserve more dividends of democracy, "and as a party, our major focus is the wellbeing of the people. We cannot afford to disappoint them".

He commends the judiciary for painstakingly considering all the facts before them to arrive at "such a sound judgment"; the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and security agencies for what he terms "civilised dispositions" during the election.

The party, in the same vein, felicitates with the APC family, particularly in Kogi State, over "the sweet victory", saying the judgment further enhances consolidation of the party in the North Central State.

"We thank the Almighty Allah for His benevolence and kindness, and for giving us the inestimable and all-round victory", he added, and prayed God to grant Mr. Governor the grace, and sound health to deliver on campaign promises.
