"Forget Social Media" Toyin Abraham Reacts To Alleged Beef Between Her And Funke Akindele (video)
~1.9 mins read

Toyin Abraham has reacted to the alleged beef between her and Funke Akindele.

Recall that just weeks back, a movie reviewer had left a negative review about Toyin's new movie, The Ghost And The Tout Too.

Reacting to the review, Iyabo Ojo, who starred in the movie, accused Funke of paying the reviewer to write the negative review. Iyabo added that Funke is always finding ways to discredit her colleagues (read here).

This led people to believe there's beef between Toyin Abraham and Funke Akindele.

But Toyin quashed the rumours during an interview.

Toyin said Funke Akindele is one of the few people in the Nigerian movie industry that she looks up to and respects. She added that she kneels down to greet her whenever they meet in public.

Toyin Abraham said: "She is my senior colleague and she is someone I respect a lot; so, I do not know what people are talking about, trust me. She is one of the few people I look up to. Sometimes, people do not understand that we are colleagues and not family. So, you cannot be talking to all your colleagues. We talk, we follow each other.

"If I see her, I will kneel down and say, 'Aunty Funke se wa okay?'. A lot of people do not understand that we are working in the same space; we do not have to be close friends. When we see ourselves we greet each other. Forget social media, trust me."

Ortom Blasts Buhari: These Fulanis Are From Mali & Niger; Not Even Nigerians

Ortom identifies armed herdsmen’s country of origin, says presidency happy with security situation

Governor Samuel Ortom has alleged that some of the armed Fulani herders unleashing terror on unsuspecting residents of the State and other parts of Nigeria are from Mali and Niger Republic.

In an interview with DAILY POST, the Governor revealed that most of the Fulani herders arrested in the state “cannot speak Hausa or Fulfide”, saying that they are from French speaking countries.

Governor Ortom accused the current presidency of finding pleasure in the unfortunate security situation of the country, stating that the armed Fulani men are more dangerous than the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, which President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration proscribed and tagged as a terrorist group. Cleaning Services

He said,

“My point is why is it that these Fulanis that are coming here can’t be stopped? They are not even Nigerians, yet there are Nigerians Fulanis. They are coming from Mali and Niger and they are not hiding it. They say it.

“Most of them that are arrested here speak French, they cannot speak Hausa or Fulfide and so it is a matter of the government deciding that ‘look, we must stop this.’

“But it is clear to me now and that is why I said that the body language of the current presidency is that they are happy with what is happening. They stopped IPOB in the Southeast, and branded them terrorists.

“If I were to evaluate what was happening in the Southeast and the Southwest, what the Fulanis are doing here is worse. The weapons they have are more than what they have in the southeast and southwest. I don’t support all those secessionist agitations by those individuals. I don’t support it, but the truth is that we should ensure equity and fairness.

“We should ensure justice for all. What is good for the goose is good for the gander. So why are we separating other people as if they are slaves? And then you bring Fulani from outside to come and terrorize your country and you allow them? The president himself accepted that these ones that are terrorizing us are not Nigerians.

“So why are you allowing them? Why have they refused to brand them as terrorists? Why have they refused to ban them? Why have they encouraged Miyetti Allah to be killing our people?”

Army Opened Fire On Protesting Students
~1.5 mins read
Many students of Plateau State Polytechnic were injured on Monday during their protest over the postponement of the first semester examinations by the school authorities.

The students who trooped out as early as 8:45 am for the peaceful protest blocked the highway leading into the state capital thereby disrupting vehicular movements for close to three hours.

The protest was later hijacked by hoodlums who injured both students and pedestrians, damaged cars and other valuable properties.
A source close to the students revealed that the students staged the demonstration to protest the postponement of the examination scheduled to commence on Monday by the management of the polytechnic over a strike notice issued by the academic staff union of the institution, ASUP.

A student of the polytechnic, Mr Thaddeus Yarnang, said the students perceived the strike notice by the lecturers as uncalled for considering the number of years they had been at the home coupled with the covid-19 pandemic.

“We came to school this morning to start our examinations only to see a circular that our lecturers have been on strike since Friday. We have spent over three years in just one semester owing to COVID-19 lockdown and largely due to the various strikes embarked upon by our lecturers.

“We keep paying for our accommodation, school fees, and other expenses. More so, we are getting old and by the time we graduate, we can’t find jobs because of age,” Yarnang lamented.

“Nobody has come to address us on the issue and we feel this is not right. We demand a proper explanation from the management on why we cannot start our examinations today. We are tired of this back and forth; our academic journey is suffering and this is not good for us,” he decried.

Nigerian Tribune learnt that those who sustained injuries in the course of the protest are receiving treatment at various hospitals within the state capital.

Efforts to reach the Public Relations Officer of the institution, Mr John Ramadan, at the time of filing this report proved abortive
