Twenty-three-year-old Olalekan Faleye, a survivor of the shooting that attended the peaceful #ENDSARS protest at Lekki Toll Gate in Lagos, says he has become an amputee after the gunshot injuries he sustained to the leg on Tuesday, October 20, 2020.
He had undergone surgical amputation of his bullet-ridden right leg.
The shooting incident had attracted national and international outcry, with the Lagos State and Federal governments being urged to unravel the identity of the shooters and who deployed them.
Speaking exclusively with PUNCH HealthWise a few days after he was discharged from the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Igbobi, Lagos, Olalekan said until the Lekki shooting, he had temporarily worked as a labourer with a construction company in Ikoyi to raise money for his ‘freedom’ as an apprentice cobbler.
He also planned to use whatever was left after his freedom ceremony to rent a shop where he could carry out his cobbler trade.
“Any time we had little or nothing to do at the construction site, I would join the #ENDSARS protesters at Lekki Toll Gate to demonstrate against Police brutality and bad governance.
“I recalled attending the protest on three different occasions (October 15, 16 and 17) before the soldiers’ invasion on October 20,†he said.
Struck by soldiers’ bullet
Looking pale and sad, he struggled to recollect the incident of the Black Tuesday, saying the whole episode still feels like a bad dream.
“They (soldiers) arrived in a group and, without warning, started shooting at us. As people ran helter-skelter, I recalled hearing the protest coordinators screaming, ‘Don’t panic, sit on the floor together and keep waving the Nigerian flag.’
“But it was too late. People panicked when they saw the soldiers advancing and shooting at us.
Ghanaian man has taken Twitter, to give a suggestion to men who are yet to achieve anything since the inception of the year.
Identified as Target Kojo Black on the micro-blogging site, the young man advised his fellow men not to just let the year 2020 pass by without achieving anything.
He further stated that if they know it will be impossible to achieve a feat before the year runs out, they should just get a lady pregnant.
Kojo Black tweeted;
“The year is coming to an end. At least if yuh can’t achieve anything this year, GET SOMEONE’S DAUGHTER PREGNANTâ€

The conspiracy however continues. Non NEC members of the NWC came visiting last week. They were plied with some N200,000 each so that they could keep their mouth shut when the NEC is called in December to dissolve the party’s structure from the Ward to the State level; the Gang is able to do its membership registration; elect its favored executive across the country;?deregister those members considered antagonistic to their agenda; organise a sham convention and seize the party while waiting to nominate its candidate for President in 2022.
As The Gang put its plot in place, and delight at going to show a party newsletter to President Buhari as its big achievement , the old warriors are waiting and watching. Senator Aliero in Kebbi, Wammako in Sokoto, Tinubu in Lagos, Shettima in Borno, Aminu Bello Masari in Katsina, Ganduje in Kano, Oshiomhole in Edo , Hope Uzodinma in Imo and several old and experienced warriors are lying low and watching the upstarts play their game while waiting for the auspicious moment to pounce and devour them.
The multitude of members at the base of the Party’s pyramid who have been neglected over the years while the governors butcher their bulls and eat it alone are also watching with keen interest.

... Death toll still uncertain
Governor of Borno State, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum was at Zabarmari early morning on Sunday, to lead kinsmen and other residents, still in shock, for the funeral of 43 farmers slaughtered by the Boko Haram insurgents.
Though the victims lived in Zabarmari, a farming community in Jere Local Government Area, famous for rice cultivation and local processing, they were attacked on Saturday, at Koshebe village, a place in Mafa Local Government Area.
Zulum, during his visit was told that death toll was yet to be fully ascertained.
"Your Excellency, as you have seen here, 43 corpses were buried, but others have not been retrieved from the scene of the incident. Nobody can tell you the exact number of people killed. Some of the victims are still missing" a resident (name concealed, told the Governor).
Zulum addressed the bereaved community.
“First of all, accept my deepest sympathy over this carnage, once again, that affects all of us and every human with conscience. I am told some persons are still missing. We have been discussing with the military since yesterday, Insha Allah the remaining people will be traced soon."
The Governor while speaking to journalists said, "It is disheartening that more than 40 citizens were slaughtered while they were working in their farmlands. Our people are in very difficult situations, they are in two different extreme conditions, in one side they stay at home they may be killed by hunger and starvation, on the other, they go out to their farmlands and risk getting killed by the insurgents. This is very sad. We are still appealing to the Federal Government to ensure recruitment of more our youths in the CJTF and hunters into the Nigerian military and the Civil Defence so that they can form part of the agro rangers that will protect farmers. We need many boots to protect farmlands and our youths understand the terrain. We will not lose hope because we have to remain optimistic about ending the insurgency†Zulum said.https://www.facebook.com/355177254819159/posts/1354281191575422/
