STAY COMMITTED IN YOUR FELLOWSHIP WITH YOUR FATHER, YOU LOOK MORE LIKE HIM AS YOU BEHOLD HIM.

*STAY COMMITTED IN YOUR FELLOWSHIP WITH YOUR FATHER, YOU LOOK MORE LIKE HIM AS YOU BEHOLD HIM.*

*One of the ways we deprive ourselves from walking in the full expression of God is through our inconsistent walk in the Spirit or lack of fellowship with God.*

_A consistent walk in the Spirit precedes an effective birthing of the realities of the Spirit._

*If only we understand that everything we need pertaining to life and godliness is attached to our fellowship with God, one minute will even be too much to stay out of fellowship with Him.*

_Oh! The joy in fellowshipping with God alone is more than wine, I tell you, nothing feels special than this._

*Every of our possibilities on earth as believers can only be birth by fellowshipping with Him, impossibilities can only remain the reality of a man who is consistently out of fellowship with God.*

_The deeper we are in our relationship with God, the deeper we take down our root in Him, and the better our fruitfulness._

*The traits of the Zoe life manifests and flows out of us as we begin to dwell perpetually in fellowship with God in Spirit and in Truth.*

_Listen, even though a man is in light, such a man will continue to walk in darkness until he begins to cherish his walk in the Spirit and pay close attention to his fellowship with God._

*Salvation give us access to every of the possibilities in God, but they become realities as we perpetually fellowship with Him and walk in the Spirit.*

_Stay in touch with God, He's your father, He wants to see His children fellowship with Him. The secret place calls._

Crack In ASUU As Members Want End To Strike -
~4.5 mins read
Members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) have pleaded with the federal government to have mercy their children and those of ordinary Nigerians bearing the brunt of the protracted strike by quickly attending to their demands to enable them resume immediately.

The union had in March, 2020 embarked on the industrial action to press for their demands and kick against the use of force by the federal government to enroll its members on the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS).

But eight months into the nationwide strike, the federal government has remained adamant about getting committed to meeting their demands, while the union is insisting it will not call off the strike.

Addressing a press conference at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife yesterday, members of the Akure Zone of the union cried out, saying they were tired of the strike.

The Zone which was represented by the chairman of the Federal University of Technology Akure, Dr Olayinka Awopetu, Ekiti State University, Dr Kayode Arogundade, Obafemi Awolowo University, Dr Adeola Egbedokun and Federal University Oye- Ekiti, Dr Gabriel Omonijo alleged that the federal government was rushing them to resume because of fear of protest by youths.

In the address which was read by the union zonal coordinator, Prof Olu Olufayo, the ASUU members explained that the lingering industrial action of the union was to get the federal government to fulfill the agreement of 2013 and 2019 and not primarily about Integrated Personnel and Payroll System (IPPIS).

They stated: “For the avoidance of doubt, our issues remain; funding for revitalization of public universities, payment of earned academic allowances, visitation panels to universities and renegotiation of 2009 FGN/ASUU agreement. Since 2009, we have conscientiously approached the government to be faithful to implement the agreement it freely entered into with the union. The current struggle is derived from this history.

“We are tired of the strike. Our children are attending the public institution and it is sad that those frustrating our agitations, their children are not attending schools in Nigeria. It is so unfortunate. FG is intentionally starving us for our members to compromise and resume.

Prof Olufayo noted that meetings with the federal government recently have failed to solve their demands because the government is bent on dishonouring the agreement earlier reached.

He urged FG to pity the children of ordinary Nigerians and quickly attend to the lingering issues without delay saying.

He continued: “The public should not blame ASUU for further damage to the university educational system but hold the federal government responsible.

“Our students have stayed home for almost a year, we are not the cause, we started our strike before COVID-19 and those students are fed up and it was part of what contributed to #EndSARS and the FG realised that. They are now calling for negotiations that they turned down months back.

The students during #EndSARS also included End bad governance. I know that students in Kwara State universities gave FG two weeks ultimatum to sort the issue with ASUU else they will hit streets with protest, that scares the government and they are rushing us to resume”.

In the same vein, the Academic Staff Union Of Universities (ASUU), Abuja zone, has stressed that the ongoing industrial action by the union is for the interest of the university system and Nigerians in general.

Speaking in an interview with LEADERSHIP Weekend on behalf of the zone which comprises Federal University of Technology, Minna, Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai, Federal University of Lafia and University of Abuja, chairman of the zone, Professor Theophilus Lagi said what the union is doing is patriotic.

He said Nigerians should always blame federal government for failing to fulfill its agreement by implementing the MoA of 7th February, 2019, and other issues such as Renegotiation of the 2009 agreement, Revitalization fund to public universities, Earned Academic Allowance, Visitation Panel to public universities and proliferation of state universities and governance Issues in them.

Lagi who further stressed the need for government to allow theunion adopt University Transparency and Accountability Solution (UTAS) said, “Not just federal government accepting the UTAS because in principle we have agreed over time that once UTAS is accepted and it is has passed through integrity test then federal government will deploy it to be use within the university system and that the understanding between the union and government but to our shock and recently when the government invited the union for discussion government is still insisting that our members should go back and register with the IPPIS pending when the UTAS is ready.

“It is not very logical as if the government is still bent on forcefully encouraging our members to migrate to the IPPIS. The reason behind all these is what is not very clear to us because over time we have demonstrated the superiority of UTAS over IPPIS it captures our peculiarities and it respects agreement between individuals, even state universities what they have entered into concerning tax which ofcourse, does not recognize. “IPPIS is purely designed for civil service but it does not take cognizance of the peculiarities of the university system.”

On the claim that so many ASUU members had already registered on the IPPIS platform, Lagi said, “It depends on where you are getting the statistics from because you can lie with statistics because as far as we are concerned insignificant number of our lecturers did not only willingly register with IPPIS.

“Some of them were forced to register and that is the major reason while government decided to stop salaries of academic staff across Nigerian universities to force them to be hungry so that they will run and register with the IPPIs and we think that is callous on the side of whoever is thinking that by starving university lecturers they will migrate on the platform.

“I am calling on the government to at least respect what we are doing, what we are doing is patriotic and is for the interest of the university system and for the interest of Nigerians. We should be encouraged instead and not to be treated with disdain,” he appealed.

Nigeria To Pull Out Of Some International Organisations Over Paucity Of Funds -
~3.6 mins read
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Godfrey Onyeama, says plans are underway to reduce the number of International Organisations Nigeria belongs to because of paucity of funds.

Mr Onyeama made this known while defending the ministry’s 2021 budget at the House of Representatives on Tuesday in Abuja.

He said that the ministry is faced with a challenge of meeting its contribution to those International organisations.

“We are owing a lot, and in the Federal Executive Council (FEC), there is a process to rationalise and cut down on the International Organisations we belong to.

“This is because we are just owing monies left and right and it is not even good for the image of the country,” he said.

Mr Onyeama, who decried the poor funding of the ministry, reeled out the challenges facing the 2021 budget implementation.

The minister said that one the challenges the ministry is facing is the movement of officers, ambassadors and their families.

He said that N1.6 billion is required for the movement of ambassadors while officers will require N3.7 billion, making a total of N5.3 billion for the whole movement.

The minister said in addition to what was received in the revised budget, the ministry will require an additional N1.1 billion in 2021 to meet the cost of movement.

He stressed the need to address the inadequate overhead budgetary provisions to the missions, which is resulting to a lot of debt for electricity and rent.

“Just on Monday, the ambassador in Hungary called to say they are going to throw them out from the chancery building. That the landlord is coming and that they do not have the money to pay.

“And we get that from a lot of missions across the world and that is not a sustainable way of running foreign service.

“Then this exchange rate differential with the CBN is really something we need to address once and for all.

“It is not so easy, all of these things are computed in naira and all the payments abroad are in dollars and once the exchange rate is changed, it never goes the other way, it always goes up, it never comes down visa vis the dollar. This means immediate shortfall for all our missions,” he said

The minister said that the ministry requires an additional capital allocation of N5 billion to address some of the missions’ renovation needs.

According to him, “a lot of our missions are eyesores and it is just a huge embarrassment to the country that we can have mission in such terrible conditions.”

Mr Onyeama said that between 2012 and 2014, the ministry owed local contractors N1.3 billion.

According to him, “we have been receiving letters from the National Assembly forwarding to us various claims and judgement and asking us to pay them.

“We have a big challenge with clothing allowances, as you know, all officers in our missions from grade level 7 and above are entitled to US$2,500 clothing allowance per annum.

“In the 2021 budget, about 1,312 officers will be expecting the payment of these allowances and if you take at the CBN official rate, we are looking at N1.2 billion.

“What we have available is N762 million for that, to able to pay the clothing allowances, we still need at additional sum of N500 million,” he said.

Mr Onyeama said that the ministry needs N225 million to pay premium for the insurance of the ministry’s head quarters.

According to him, that is based on an estimate of the value of the building at N12 billion which is a very rare conservative estimate of that building.

He said that the ministry needs N342 million for the building of infrastructure which bridge the ICT gap the ministry currently faces.

“I was talking about the ICT deficit, with presence in 110 countries, we believe that the ministry should be in a key position for foreign direct investment and export promotion, leveraging on our physical presence in 110 countries of the world to make that possible.

“It would be a one-stop shop for Nigerian businesses without going through all kinds of bottle necks. We want your consideration to allocate this amount into the envelope.

“Part of what will go for digitizing our missions and the 24-7 health desk that we need to have to keep in touch with Nigerians around the world.

“That will really transform the ministry and get us to do things we need to be doing and add economic values to the country,” he said.

Denmark To Kill 15 Million Minks To Stop Mutated Coronavirus Spreading To Humans
~2.1 mins read
Denmark’s prime minister wants to cull all minks in farms to minimise the risk of re-transmitting COVID-19 to humans.

Denmark’s State Serum Institute, which deals with infectious diseases, has found mink-related strands of the novel coronavirus in 214 people since June, according to a report on its website updated on November 5.

Meanwhile, one strain of the mutated coronavirus, which has prompted Denmark to cull its entire herd of mink, has been found in 12 people and on five mink farms so far.

Early this week, Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said the government wants to cull all minks on farms to minimise the risk of the weasel-like mammals’ re-transmitting COVID-19 to humans.

“It is very, very serious,” Frederiksen said. “Thus, the mutated virus in minks can have devastating consequences worldwide.”

Health minister Magnus Heunicke said half the 783 human COVID-19 cases in northern Denmark “are related” to minks.

The development has prompted fresh measures to stem the spread of the virus; more than a quarter million Danes went into lockdown Friday in a northern region of the country where the mutated variation of the coronavirus has infected minks being farmed for their fur.

The coronavirus evolves constantly and, to date, there is no evidence that any of the mutations pose an increased danger to people. But Danish authorities were not taking any chances.

In seven northern Denmark municipalities with some 280,000 residents sport and cultural activities have been suspended, public transportation has been stopped and regional borders have been closed.

Only people with so-called “critical functions” such as police and health officials and different authorities are being permitted to cross municipal boundaries.

People in the region have been urged to to be tested. As of Saturday, restaurants must close, and school students from fifth grade and up will switch to remote learning Monday.

“We must knock down completely this virus variant,” Heunicke said on Thursday.

Denmark is one of the world’s main mink fur exporters, producing an estimated 17 million furs a year. Kopenhagen Fur, a cooperative of 1,500 Danish breeders, accounts for 40 percent of global mink production. Most of its exports go to China and Hong Kong.

According to government estimates, culling the country’s 15 million minks could cost up to five billion kroner ($785m). National police head Thorkild Fogde said: “It should happen as soon as possible.”

Denmark’s minister for food, Mogens Jensen, said 207 farms were now infected, up from 41 last month, and the disease has spread to all of the western peninsula of Jutland.

Last month, Denmark started culling millions of minks in the north of the country. The government has promised to compensate farmers.

The country has registered 52,265 confirmed COVID-19 infections and 733 related deaths.

Roberto Firmino Key To Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp Insists
~1.5 mins read
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp insists Brazil striker Roberto Firmino brings much more to the team than goals.

Firmino's place in the side has been brought into focus because of the form of summer signing Diogo Jota, who has scored seven goals in 10 matches.

Last season no Premier League player won possession more than Firmino's 37.

"He was the difference-maker so many times," said Klopp, who added he would "feel really embarrassed" to list all the qualities of the 29-year-old.

Liverpool signed Firmino from Hoffenheim in 2015 on a five-year deal for a fee of about £29m.

He has scored 58 Premier League goals in 182 appearances, with last season's return of nine the first campaign in which he did not reach double figures.

A key component of Firmino's role, however, is to lead the forward press and create space for the likes of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, a contributing factor last term as Liverpool won their first top-flight title for 30 years.

"I don't have to say one word about Bobby Firmino and how important he was for us, I don't waste time with that," Klopp said.

"He was in so many games the difference-maker without scoring maybe, I'm not sure, but with scoring as well in other games, so I would feel really embarrassed if I had to mention now the qualities of Bobby Firmino.

"I can't help these people, sorry. . That's how it is."

Liverpool head to Manchester City on Sunday looking to atone for their 4-0 defeat in July, which came just days after their first league title since 1990 had been confirmed.

The Reds finished 18 points above second-placed City last term and are already five points above them this season.

However, Klopp said: "It's of course nothing even close to a title decider.

"We all know you need to be lucky with injuries, you need to find a way every three days to beat the next opponent, which is itself already incredibly important but with the last game in your legs, it's even more difficult."
