Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has asked Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to be mindful of those around him if he wants to win next year’s election.
Speaking in Port Harcourt during the inauguration of the Rivers State House of Assembly Quarters by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, on Friday, Wike said those around Atiku might cost him the election.
Nyesom Wike has asked Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to be mindful of those around him if he wants to win next year’s election.
Wike said some persons were busy going after him when the target ought to be how to win the 2023 general election for the PDP.
“This should be the focus of all true lovers of PDP who want electoral victory. You’re supposed to be talking about how you will win election. All these rent seekers around him (Atiku) are not doing him any favour. Rather they are trying to make him not to win election. But if that is what they wish, I wish them good luck.”

Manchester United legend, Andrei Kanchelskis, has suggested that the club’s forward, Cristiano Ronaldo’s big ego means he needs to leave Old Trafford at once.
Kanchelskis believes Man United would be better off without Ronaldo like they are without Pogba.

UK Becomes First Country To Approve Antiviral Drug To Treat Covid-19

Britain has approved the use of an experimental drug, Molnupiravir from U.S. pharmaceutical giant, Merck to treat Covid-19.
The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) announced on Thursday, 4 November, France24 reports.
The pill was licensed for adults 18 and older who have tested positive for Covid-19 and have at least one risk factor for developing severe disease.
A clinical trial carried out worldwide resulted in reduced hospitalizations and deaths by nearly half among adult patients diagnosed with mild to moderate Covid-19.
The first dose given to a volunteer in the trial was administered in the United Kingdom.
The drug, known as molnupiravir, is intended to be taken twice a day for five days by people at home with mild to moderate Covid-19.
“Today is a historic day for our country, as the UK is now the first country in the world to approve an antiviral that can be taken at home for Covid-19,” said health minister Sajid Javid.
“This will be a game-changer for the most vulnerable and the immunosuppressed, who will soon be able to receive the ground-breaking treatment,” he added.
Britain, which has been one of the countries hardest hit by the pandemic, announced on October 20 that it had ordered 480,000 doses of molnupiravir from the US pharma giant Merck.
Drug regulators in the United States and the European Union have already begun an evaluation of the drug.
Merck has already signed agreements with other governments, including the US, which has planned to buy 1.7 million doses if molnupiravir is approved by regulators.
