There is a mass resignation by police officers, in the aftermath of the death of a few police officers, especially at a time when the end SARS protest, became violent, with the coming in, of thugs and hoodlums. These hoodlums killed band burnt a few policemen, which puts the lives of other living police officers and men, in danger.

Most of these police officers are tired of the job, because of the threat to their lives. It is not enough for the Inspector General, to reject the mass resignation. It is to find out why are they seeking for a resignation.

The high command must examine why the resignation of police officers.

The police force is underfunded, with a poor salary structure, which explains why a whole lot of them, are not motivated to do their job properly.

The way the police system treat police officers is unfair. Some may be transferred with no place for accommodation, and also poor salaries.

The police hierarchy is too corrupt, the Inspector General of Police and Commissioners of police in the thirty six states of the federation, are corrupt and doesn't allow the money to get down to the lower ranks in the police force.

There is need to build the confidence of the police officers.

Judging by the ongoing crisis in the country at the moment due to the violent #EndSARS protests in almost areas of the country, Lives and properties of citizens are no longer safe as constant reports of looting and destruction of businesses have been heard from different places in the country. At the moment, there is currently a breakdown of law and order and it would be better if the entire country is placed on lockdown to avoid more chaos and ease the tension.

In my opinion, the federal government of Nigeria should announce a nationwide lock down by means of closing down all churches, mosques, markets and schools across all the parts of the country.

As a citizen of this noble country, what do you think about this?
