Tie Joke
~0.7 mins read
On the day of my big job interview I woke up late. Frantically I threw on a suit. “OH NO!” I thought. “MY TIE! My Dad was out of town and wasn’t there to help me, and for the life of me I did not know how to tie a tie!

I grabbed a tie and ran out the door. “Excuse me sir,” I said to the crossing guard, “I have an important job interview, can you please help me make this tie?!” “Sure” said the guard, “just lie down on this bench.”

Well if someone was going to help me I wasn’t going to ask any questions. After he finished and the tie looked good I just had to ask why I had to lie down. “Well in my previous job I learned how to tie tie’s on other people when they were lying down. He replied.

What was your previous job? I asked incredulously. “I ran a morg.” Was the reply.

Nun Joke
~0.6 mins read
Sister Marry was truly a religious woman. Besides for her duties as a nun, she was also very active in various hospitals visiting sick patients and taking care of all their needs.

So it was no surprise that one day when she ran out of gas, the only container she could find to put the gas into was a bedpan.

Sister Mary happily walked two blocks to the closest gas station filled up the bedpan with gas and headed back to her car.

Luck would have it that as Sister Mary started tipping the gas into the fuel tank, the traffic light turned red and she had quite a large audience witnessing the spectacle.

Just when she finished pouring in the last drops of gas a fellow opened up his window and hollered, “I swear! If that car starts I’m becoming a religious man!”

~1.6 mins read

the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) and Delta State Police Commissioner (COP) from arresting or detaining ex-Minister of State for Education, Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi.

Justice Taiwo Taiwo gave the order in suit FHC/ABJ/CS/1267/2020, following Gbagi’s ex parte application for the enforcement of his fundamental rights.

Gbagi’s application followed the controversy generated by the September 18 stripping of four employees of his hotel in Asaba over alleged missing money.

The court also granted Gbagi leave to serve the originating processes and all other subsequent processes in the suit on the COP by substituted means.

The judge ruled the IGP and the COP, who are first and second respondents, “are at liberty if they wish to file their response jointly and/or severally within 14 days.”

He adjourned till October 16 for hearing.

Besides the court’s order, Gbagi’s September 28 application had also sought an order directing parties to maintain status quo, pending the hearing and determination of the application for the enforcement of the fundamental rights of the Applicant.

The alleged stripping incident happened on September 18 and Gbagi, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has since denied any wrongdoing.

Television: " Xiaomi Mi TV Master Is The First Mini LED TV, The Extreme Edition Has 8K Resolution
~2.7 mins read

Xiaomi unveiled it’s first mini-LED based TV – a massive 82” set that can make you forget about the cinemas you can’t go to. There are two versions, Xiaomi Mi TV Master with 4K resolution and the Extreme Edition with 8K resolution.

That’s 7,680 x 4,320 px or four times as many pixels in 4K. This is a true 10-bit panel with HDR10, Dolby Vision and HLG support, 98% DCI-P3 color space coverage. It can push out 2,000 nits of brightness with a contrast ratio of 400,000:1.

“Mini LED” is an advanced local dimming solution with 960 zones. Each zone is lit by 16 LEDs that are hooked up to custom controllers, which can regulate their brightness in 4,096 steps. These LEDs are tiny, each measures only a tenth of a millimeter.

A Novatek 72685 chipset drives the beast, it has two Cortex-A73 cores and tow A53, plus a Mali-G51 MP4 GPU. It supports 5G networks and the AI engine can run 22 picture quality algorithms.

The Extreme Edition also features retractable speakers: 2x 20 W bass, 2x low frequency speakers, 2x medium frequency and 2x tweeters.

The price is set at pretty spicy CNY 50,000 ($7,350/€6,300).

The “regular” Xiaomi Mi TV Master is just as big with an 82” panel, though with “only” 4K resolution. It’s a 10-bit panel with 93% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space and 120Hz refresh rate.

This one has 240 local dimming zones, again with 4,096 levels of brightness. At full blast the TV can output 1,000 nits with a 140,000:1 contrast ratio. An HDMI 2.1 port is available for 4K 120 Hz input, which will work great with the next-gen consoles. The chipset of choice here is the MediaTek 9650 with a quad-core A73 CPU and Mali G52 MC1 GPU.

This version of the mini-LED Master TV costs CNY 10,000 ($1,450/€1,250), which is downright affordable for an 82” TV of any kind.

Both models run MIUI for Smart TVs and Xiaomi has partnered with multiple content providers so buyers won’t run out of things to watch.

It goes without saying that these TVs will be available only in China, they go on sale on October 21 at 3:00 pm local time. Some Mi TVs have made their way to Europe and India, but we wouldn't hold our breath for these two
