UK Shuts Down Embassies In Nigeria Over EndSARS Protests

The United Kingdom has shut down its embassies in
Nigeria following the recent #EndSARS Protests holding in
several states across the country.
The protests seeking an end to Police brutality and Bad
Governance degenerated into crisis leading to the loss of
lives and property. The state is currently in chaos
following the Tuesday night shooting on #EndSARS
protesters at Lekki toll gate by Security agents.
The development generated a nationwide outrage causing
hoodlums to launch attacks in several locations of the
state on Wednesday.
The UK, in a statement made available to POLITICS
NIGERIA highlighted that the closure of its offices is to
ensure the safety of staff and visa applicants.
"Due to the ongoing protest in Nigeria and for the safety of
both staff and applicants, our Nigeria centres will be
closed for 48 hours at a minimum,"
"For applicants with booked appointments within this
period, please you will need to reschedule your
appointment for next week, from 26th October 2020."
